EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – It was almost like a bad country song – her labor started when her water broke in a car wreck on Mother’s Day during a police chase.
But 25-year-old Kelly Anne Fenley of Springfield gave birth to a healthy baby boy three hours later.
Fenley, her husband David, and her parents were heading home Sunday evening after a visit with David’s parents.
Their car was struck by a small sport utility vehicle driven by a woman who had failed to turn on her headlights and was being chased by police after she ran a red light.
Fortunately, the only serious injury was a broken arm suffered by David Fenley.
